So after going on semi-hiatus for this and not telling most of you this project even exists, I'm telling you it exists!

Using the maps DJ made for Reuben CSE (thanks, btw) I have imported all the map data into the source.
And now for the screenie!



All I have program-wise atm is a working screentest, but I promise to do a lot in the coming year.

It looks cool, but is there a reason why you aren't using colour?

Because I don't have a color ROM. My Nspire is a grayscale.

If you can figure out how to get an old (deleted) page from the nSDL Wiki, there's a link to a package containing boot1 for both classic and CX Nspires. boot2 can be obtained from OS files.

Yay, nice progress! The map will be quite small if you compare it to the nSpire screen. Why not scaling the sprites *2 to balance and give it a retro feel?

This or maybe use sprites twice larger, with more details and more realistic colors ?
Or even better, have two sprite sets and let the user choose between "Retro" and "Modern" in a menu ?

Anyway, that's looking great already :)

Here's my progress. A lot of manual recoloration has been done and some shading has been added here and there.

EDIT : I think I'm okay for now. Letting the previous versions to show the work done.

I now have a screenie showing the full screentest, 16x16 sprites (sorry Eiyeron, but for reasons told in IRC, I can not use yours (for everyone else: it has to due with the mappy files I was given being optimized and not having the full spritesheet, so the spritesheets are different for each map portion, and are in a different arrangement)), and 12x8 tile surface for the game (to match the original).
