The battle system is a bit different from what I had it before the crash.
battle is workin kinda... u can already do one basic attack (stab) and move around the screen... AI and dmg calculation are yet to be done...

Matrix multiplication is very different than that, it works with rows of one = columns of the other. I'd suggest converting to lists and converting back.
ukay... found a solution, the battle system is now technically complete besides the condition for the end of the battle. And all basic attacks are now functional. "Ram" will not only do dmg, but delay the hit opponent.
I'll upload a version today for everyone who wants to try it. :)
BTW: What do you use to make animated SS? Then I could make some ;)

changes: -hitting an enemy while his ready bar is loading will delay him and deal extra dmg -enemies now fight back (super-dumb-mode, one attack, no moving :lol: ) -minor bugs concerning the display of the progress bars and battle animations fixed, dmg calculation fixed

I think the battle system so far is awesome!! Very origional and creative, and the sprites are Amazing! Some things i've noticed during gameplay though: -had to change contrast manually in program -During battle, if u move to the bottom of the screen, the the last line gets erased -Cool GS cursor :)

I didnt tried the lastest version but the previous one, awesome so far XD are you planning to make it only use xLIB?
I would if xLib contained everything I needed :P But I am still using CODEX' power down command, I find it quite nifty :)
Other Asmprgms I still use: -ZCOM (communication routine) -ZBATTCHK (battery check) -TIOSVER (TI-OS version)

one word of advice on balancing battle system, make ram do less dmg to enemy timebar, i found that kinda cheap, i just kept ramming! :)

During startup laoding, needed pics and variables are deleted and set up, current GDB stored for recalling after shutting down BM, and then Window range adjusted.

The % is equivalent with the version number, so I am at about 22% now...
33% finished will mean the engine is totally done, then I can start stuffing everything in.

no. Just different zones ^_^ The enemy's strength is based on your level. So try to skill good, else it will become very hard later on ;)

yeah. But of yourse as in most RPGs, it will take you longer to reach another level. EXP increases linear, while the EXP needed will increase quadratic. Kinda.

:police: hijack! BM is still around. In my head, on calc, and now a bit more on paper.
Since I never got around to writing down what var does what when and why during battle yet, I used some lonely late-night hours in italy when all others were already drunk to pin down lose ends and tie em together.

It took me some time to get it cleaned and wrench the stench from it. Luckily, the liquid did not penetrate any vital/electronic parts.
so, I now have a full documentation about the current version of BM, and battles now finish when all creeps are killed. Lvling up works too. Distributing stat points after a lvl up not yet.
I did not reply cuz my attention was on going through all italy pics. me classmates all want em. And 700mb o' pics are a lot to sift through.

sady I must admit: yes. I tried to do some things, but it turned out I am currently really missing time. :banghead:  I am going to pick it up again when I finish school at the latest. (another 6 months >_<) It may be that I find a little bit of time to work on some minor parts of the program though. Thus: Status changed to progress halted Note that I am going to stick around. :)

hey now... ^^' I played Rakion a whopping amount of 2 hours in the last 7 days. The reason SilkRoad-online time is always two-digit (currently last 7 days: 31 hours) is because I get up in the morning, log in, open my stall and let my char sell stuff while I am in sk00l. Sometimes it crashes while I am afk. I have 32 hours o' school a week, and about 3~5h of the displayed time I am actually playing. The rest is afk and selling (school, sleeping), semi-afk and buying/selling (SRO in background most of the time, writing homework, chatting, etc.). Heck, I've been stuck at lvl 40 now for weeks. In fact, today I haven't even brushed the SilkRoad icon on my desktop. as promised, I will take up the project again! :) ok, I scrolled through my BM code and (once again) realized how unoptimised the code is, how much could be stored in prgms containing lists pointing to the coordinates for menus etc.
conclusions: - battle engine will stay kinda like it is (as it is newer and more opimised - I have to do something about the standard menus which means that: - new project started: xCM (xLib Custom Menu) for less consumed memory - I will sift through my code and dig up my old programming logs... x.x'
btw: schools almost over, so I will have to get a TI of my own. Suggestions? ^^ 84+ or 83+SE etc... Whenever anything indicates that I am getting distracted, feel free to sue me ^^'

Yeah. Another side project to make programming BM easier faster and to de-clutter the code. Kinda weird. I wanted BM to become a big stand-alone project, yet I keep getting distracted by ideas on how to improve the memory mangement and size with selfmade plugins x.x Ah well. At least I am contributing soemthing to the community... I guess.

Mmm seeing the practically nonexisting difference in price I am now opting for a TI84+SE... Just saw a few on ebay for $79 (instant-buy) Now to creating an ebay account (and getting parental permission to get something from ebay...)
xCM (xLib Custom Menu) is working so far, no crashes yet :) what it can do now: -Load menu titels/non-interactive objects (any object that can be done with the real(12-command) interactive objects (so far: menu items) and their corresponding coordinates from a predefined list + string -display them
what it will do when done: -the above + -manouvering between menu items -when clicking an item (2nd/Enter) it will send information about what to do next to a variable -when manouvering between menu items additional information may pop up (tooltip/details)
I hope to get that done eficciently enough so it's not overly slow on a 83+ o.o Wish me luck. :knight:

Yes there is. It is called seq( I think and it is extremly difficult from MY perspective. Although though I have seen many people do it and it is uber fast lol.
i thought seq just creates a list, it doesnt retrieve stuff from em. i do not know of any subesque commands for lists though...
what exactly are you trying to do, are you trying to store part of a list into another list or retreive a certain number of elements from a list?
no it definetly is because some wrote an article on it for Omnimaga because so many people were complaining about having to use loops to make sublists. So it definetly does.

xCM is taking form... it crashed my calc once, probably something with xLib. Oh, and I scrapped the tooltip feature, it is too slow.
make sure to backup often x.x , I remember keeping losing stuff when coding metroid x.x

I think Spellshaper said in some place that this project is almost dead, but he doesn't want it to die and sometimes works on snippets of code to revive it at some points.
