Hi, I'm the author of Ender's Game, and I'm happy to say I'm making a lot of progress, though most of it isn't very visible. I'm waiting for the new version of xLib before I finish the gui. For anyone who doesn't know, Ender's Game is a turn-based strategy game based on the book of the same title by Orson Scott Card. It's somewhat similar to Advance Wars, with the huge difference that it takes place in space, and you have to deal with realistic physics- rather than just moving units a certain number of spaces a turn, you accelerate/decelerate them to control their velocity.
EDIT (December 1, 2005): Well, I've changed the title to Defilers since I've decided to make this game no longer based off the book "Ender's Game," and come up with some plot, as well as changing the engine a bit.
EDIT (December 30, 2005): I've changed the theme once again. It's now called "Battlestar Galactica," based on the remake of the 1970s cult scifi classic. Despite the fact that its a remake, the new version has actually surpassed the original, and gone on to be named Time Magazine TV show of the year for 2005. I've made up completely new sprites, and I think I've finally settled on the theme for the game.

Got a lot of work done today, I'm almost done with the in-game menu(what pops up when you select a ship), and then I'll work on the main menu(saving, loading, info, etc).

nice, will the main menu look like the old one? It was cool, maybe you could just invert the colors and it would be as nice. Also when you'll buy units or buildings (if its possible) will it pop up a menu showing all units or buildings avaliable in the starcraft style?

Yeah, I'll be using the same main menu, except with even cooler text effects. Also, you won't buy units or buildings (remember you're in deep space, years from the nearest starport).

how many units can you have at once?
(btw due to the fact Omnimaga and me have been blamed for starting debates about what the RPG genre is (remember the Dark Auron matter at MaxCoderz) I had no choice but to move this topic in the Announce your project section. The reason why I aded it is because it had a cool RPG-ish stylized storyline with FFTOM like movies but now that they are gone if I leave this topic in the RPG project section once its released it might cause more problems than benefits, maybe even another war in the TI community. I would have liked to keep it because its a very awesome game but I cant, sorry
(I need a cry emoticon). You can still post your progress here tho, this section isnt necessarly for RPGs)

K no problem. As for limits on number of units, there aren't really any- there'll be variable map sizes, so it really just depends on how many are needed for a particular scenario. Obviously you can't have more units than will fit on the map of course.

sound nice so far. I guess for the scenario that there will be a small flash-gordonatized text intro before each mission, like in Starcraft and Command and Conquer

Huh, no- there'll still be cutscenes. I'm just not going to do as many as I originally planned, and they will certainly will be very limited (probably just talking faceshots) in the beta.

Yeah I know there will be some cutscenes, but not enough to make the plot RPG-ish like the old 2003 trailer

This game is looking very, very good, I'm surprized by how much TI-BASIC for the z80 improved lately!
Those graphics scroll pretty fast, it's quite impressive!
