I actually tried them myself. People probably didn't try them much because a lot of people around here prefer games with actual graphics (no offense intended. It's not a good idea to work on graphical games early in your calculator programming venture, IMHO). I haven't gotten time to try 3 through 6, though. You should add a link in the first post because some people only check the 1st post of a topic for downloads.

No offense taken. ive been programming for a year or so, and i also need to get away from text based games. That is the whole point of doing David's Epic Journey.

Aah I see. I wasn't sure if you recently started or not.

My first ever RPG was half-text-based and the graphical part of it was room to room movement. Pressing an arrow to go left, for example, moved an entire room to the left. That RPG was remade with graphical battles and some optimizing later.

Ok, and I think that's a good thing to learn some of the fundamental concepts prior taking on such project. It's also good that the RPG is not too long either. If you take me, for example, my first 3 RPGs were about 1-5 hours long, depending of the game, and were very simple, short and even broken. Only my 6th RPG project had an actual shop. Note that back then, TIBD didn't exist, Cemetech TI-BASIC tutorials didn't either, same for TI-Freakware's, and I had no internet at home so I did not have the chance to discover BASIC Guru Online in time. I had to rely on the huge 83+ manual that used to come with the calc back then.

Well, the way I have it planned out, it'll only tale 10-20 minutes possibly. Is that too short?

Generally it's best that a game is about 1 hour minimum. I guess for a first RPG, you could add some grinding/leveling up. Example, make the final boss so you need LV 10 to beat him so the char has to fight a bunch of enemies as he progresses in the dungeon. Don't go overboard with grinding, though. People tend to not like games with only one single room where you must fight 100 monsters to max out your stats then kill the final boss in the tower, because such game is too common on ticalc.org.

I think Illusiat 1 had about 20 rooms/screens

i see. in any case, i wasnt planning on doing the 100 enemy thing. i could add it where you need a certain level to fight the boss.

If for example  the max health is stored into B, then just do the following:

A+500->A
If A>B
B->A

Does that work for (so to say you have 139 health after you win the fight and you add 500 to it for the next round?)

It would increase your health to 639. THe variable B is if there is a maximum possible health level. In Illusiat 6, for example, at level 99 you can only have 9999 HP maximum. If you have 130 HP left and use a potion, your health is increased to 630. However, if you use a potion when your health is 9630, it will not be increased to 10130, but rather 9999, because 9999 is the cap.

But B is not max health. It's opponents health. And A is your health.
