Title: Clibz
Post by: lolje on May 28, 2006, 10:38:00 pm
Draw'n map is a bundle to edit Pictures (especcially for editing Pictures for use as Tile/spriteset!) and then to make a tileMAP with it. The tilemap data will be saved in matrices, so it's the perfect tool to make Tilemaps for use with xLIB-commands.
But you could also just use it to edit and view your pictures.

Screenshots:

main menu

user posted image
Sprite/Tileset editor (you don't see the great tool-bar here  :Ptongue.gif )

user posted image
Tilemap editor

Included features:
-Draw different objects
(Dots, Lines, Rectangles, Circles)
in Black/White/Invert

-Copy/Paste Function
(Copy and Paste 8*8 pixel squads with 2nd(Paste) and Alpha(Copy)!)

Keys:
F1:Lines
F2:Rectangles
F3:Circles
F4:Copy/Paste
F5:Change Pic...

2nd:Black
Alpha:White
Math:Invert

--------------------

I'm sure you'll like it cause It's handy, useful and you can use it in many different ways:
-View/Edit pics,
-Design Tilesets (for xlib RPGS  ;)wink.gif )
-Create and watch own clips
and all this in a very comfortable way:
The program is fast, graphically, handy and multifunctional.

EDIT:The bundle Draw'n map is included as an attachment

I thought you already did this on UTI, and I know CDI made a animation studio before also? Anywho, sounds great.

Hmm sound great, but is it the same than Shizzle on UTI?
Title: Clibz
Post by: lolje on May 30, 2006, 04:10:00 am
In 'Shizzle' the objects were randomly placed and saved in hacked pictures. Here the pics are still hacked but you can place and choose the objects completely yourself.
But it's also no 'Animation Studio' in that way because you just edit the picture, save or load it. IF you want you can take some of your pictures you made and let them animate with the same program. It's also useful to create Tilesets for use with xLIB especcialy if you want to create some grey because i'll also integrate another feature to test two tilesets (btw pictures) how they look put together (in grey).
In short that means it's a complete new program with another interface, engine and so on.

Oh, did I already mention that it's only one program, which will probably ~3000 bytes big  ?

Hope you understood my bad grammar. But you'll see   ;)wink.gif

Title: Clibz
Post by: lolje on June 19, 2006, 08:44:00 pm
I think we should bundle them but not into one program
(it could cause some problems with labels, variables and so on which are used by both progs.)
Maybe we just pack them into one bundle
No idea about the name...
Title: Clibz
Post by: Spellshaper on June 20, 2006, 02:44:00 am
The only label my editor uses is: Lbl A
That can be changed easily. Just tell me a Lbl you haven't used yet.

And we could just pack the two programs together, and make an introduction/selection screen at the beginning, to choose which prgm to start! That solves the variable problem.

And a name... Uhm... what about:
-Clibz map editor
-Ultimate xLib tool for graphics
-Draw'n map

If you give me an OK, I will do the bundling stuff...

sorry, my time is very limited but I always think about omnimaga when I were offline for a longer period.

Yes, I thinik Draw'n map would be a very good name. I checked your prog and it's a good one although I thing you should do something on another interface.
How did you optimize it? If it's just some ')' deleted and all those not really necessary 'optimizings' I don't care (This isn't supposed to sound rude!). If you found more please tell me.
Oh and If you already did a little menu just post - otherwhise I'll make a little graphical one.

Thank you for your attraction,

Title: Clibz
Post by: Spellshaper on June 28, 2006, 09:46:00 am
ukuk gronash barzwuja!

nvm that first line ^^

I finished optimizing...
And it was not about removing paranthesis, but killing as many goto/lbl statemnets as possible as well as making Clibz even cooler! ;)wink.gif

-What I did structure-wise?
Substitute If-then-end for goto/lvl
-What I did content-wise?
Nuthin.
-What I did interface-wise?
Spicing.
That interface that normally takes up the last 8pixel rows is now gone, but buzzez up when Y= is pressed. Allows for more sprites ;)wink.gif

I also did the packaging into one neat prgm...
Now I only have to optimize my own part of the program  :lol:laugh.gif
It's still a bit rough around the graphical edges, and if I put the name "Draw 'n Map" on it now, it would jar and squeak at every turn >_<
Definitely needs more oil for smoothness.
Should be done by tomorrow.

Upload soon.

btw: you can always contat me via ICQ or whatever lolje :)smile.gif That would even allow for german language being used over the net once again :ninja:ninja.gif

Currently, the package is at about 6.2kbytes

I made another graphical Main-Menu for Draw'n map. Btw The one you included in the pack didn't work on my calc... I'll upload soon.

@Clibz: Woah! So many changes!

good:
-The scrolling menu is VERY helpful especcially because you can edit the whole picture now. But it would be better if you could also draw rectangles, circles and so on when the menu is down. So that its a kind of 'Info'-menu...

-Its faster and runs very smooth
Thanks very much!

not so good: I don't really like these menus after every single line because i think this makes the program less handy.the one which appears when you press on 'PIC' is better than before because of the meory, but the large rectangle-menu is too confusing.

After all: Thx very much! I didn't think that the update would have been so HUGE...

oh, I'll upload the program for the title menu soon...

I am very sorry, but the source of the links, where i am uploading all the programs and screens ( 'home.arcor.de/lolje') is broken.

This means that I cant upload anything to you and all the links I already gave to you don't work.

I have nearly no time at the moment but I opened another archive.
Now I concentrate on making the old broken links working again.

This is also the explanation that the links in the 'Snake Hunters'-Forum and the age of culture-forum didn't work in the last few
(days? hours???)...

I'll upload it when all this work is done.

I just uploaded a new version which fixes two nasty bugs;

1. you couldn't load a tilemap directly from the main-menu of the map editor. fixed.

2. when you pressed [MODE] at the very-main-menu, the program was shut down, but the contrast wasn't set to default. fixed.

and 3. It looked as if the calc would crash everytime you entered from the greyscale-title to the main-menu or when you came to the menu. It looks smoother now  :)smile.gif

Not really important updates (apart from no 1!) and I didn't add any stuff, but now it's really perfect.
