DDR for calc

Hi everyone.
I was trying to find a good place to share my idea and I found this place. It was listed at Wikipedia so I thought I'd try it out.
I've been programming my 83+ for a while now. I learned how when I found that I could put formulas in it for math class. Now that I'm better, I have been creating some really cool games.
Recently, a friend of mine showed me how to do stuff with xLIB and now i've got some really good ideas. I thought that since I like DDR so much, I should make it for the 83+. What do you think? I've made a minesweeper game and a falldown kind of game with xLIB and now I want to see if I can make a DDR game.

Welcome to Omnimaga! Now where's those peanuts
Actually, there already is a DDR game.
DJ Omnimaga (this site's founder) created the game a while back.
You can find it
http://omnimaga.org/index.php?showtopic=176
If you still want to create another DDR then feel free though.
Anyways, welcome to Omnimaga again!

I would like to see a DDR game with all the scoring and ranks from the original DDR. This is actually what my old DDR lacked the most

Not to demotivate anyone, but don't games like DDR and Guitar Hero kind of
need
music to be properly playable?

no, they just need a beat whether its visual or audio is up to the game maker. having said that i would suggest a little metronome or somehting on the screen somewhere

ya, like XXR has some nice things going on in the background.
maybe someday someone will make an ASM version w/ music, but I'm not sure if everyone who owns a calc realizes what kind of adapter they need to plug headphones in.

well this is why I called my first DDR clone xLIB xLIB Revolution, since there was no music. I still find such games fun as random key smashing games tho.
That said I wish xLIB supported music. I know Omnicalc does but Omnicalc doesn't have fast scrolling routines, which are needed for games such as XXR...

It would be cool to see an Omnicalc version though (with sound).

yeah, it would be extremly slow though because you need to redraw all arrows on screen after erasing the screen. xLIB ddr works like a BASIC tunnel, you scroll 8 pixels up and just draw the bottom one

Wow! I wasn't expecting so much interest.
do you think it would be possible to make it in grayscale instead of having sound?
I don't think many people would have the right adapter so I don't see how sound would benefit much
Right now I'm working on the title screen. I'll post a screenshot when I get more done on it.

grayscale would be cool too, but it would slow down the game a lot if you do it using BASIC+xLIB.
