Kevin, why censor me for? My post was friendly, and it was only a suggestion. I said that calcs lack fighter games, and that if he would develop a fighting game it has the potential to get really popular. I did not have the slightest intention to disturb anyone. One of the reasons I think that there aren't many fighter games out there is because of: - XLib is not fast enough for such fast-paced games and/or - there is more work involved in making a good fighter game than you would think, just take all the separate animations for every character and you should get an idea :knight: ![]() - Alex |

Trust me, I considered tackling such a project and decided against it - walking animations, hitting animations, injured animations, animations for every special move... that's tens if not hundreds of hand-drawn sprites - it's more suitable for a team project rather than a single job. I'd love to see Streets of Rage on a calc someday though. :)![]() - Alex |

Did you ever consider using TestCollide16x() from ExtGraph? It's remarkably fast for collision detection between sprites. I think it'd make some of the stuff easier for a SSB type game. edit: and as for sprites, you could always get them from someone else who's really talented at pixel art. |
