I'm going to make a gamepack for the 83+ series. I have already created some games in the past few weeks but I dont think that there are enough games. so if you have some games lying around or want to make some for the gamepack, have ideas for a game, comments, optimisations, or a better version of one of my games *cough*snake*cough*, then post it. it will be packed in a app with basicbuilder.
the menu.

it currently allows for 15 games, but I can increase it to 20, 25.... if neccesary
here are my games:

asteroid

tictactoe (bke)

dodge

memory

slide

snake

what do you think of it
I'm going on camp tomorrow, so I wont be around for a week.
-
this look like a nice project, so this will be like Kalan's game pack or Omni pack, right? I hope you can get more games in it :)

and see you next week i hope you have fun at camp
-
neat
-
I haven't heard of kalans gamepack or of omnipack, so I couldn't judge that. and I hope to that there will be more games. If anyone has any games that can be included, feel free to post them.
-
I was working on something like this to demonstrate the power of my new GUILIB (it had a pretty sweet GUI) but alas it was lost with my calc.

GUILIB? a pure basic GUI library?
-
Yeah, it was gonna support multiple windows, GUI items (check boxes, scrollbars, etc) and a few more random things. I'll probably recode it next year.
-
SOMEONE POSTED FINALLY! I felt all alone on Omnimaga for the past day :'(
-
Cool screen shots. This looks pretty sweet. :)

Well, I must say that both of these were very inspiring (despite DJ's being in French), and it's making me make a collection of my own games :)
.
-
how is it progressing so far?
-
well, thanks to the start of school, pokemon pearl being to adictive, a dutch TI website I am admin of (http://www.ti-wereld.nl), and overall lazyness, progress has been slow, I'm afraid :(
-
o.o
Wow the animations look soo smooth and nice in your games. Especially memory. Keep up the good work :thumb:
-
wow you got a quite active forum it seems o.o
, nice site, i wish i understood dutch x.x, this is the first dutch TI community I see so far.
I hope you dont give up on calc programming anytime soon :)
-
I have 2 new games done

what do you think
and does somebody has some more ideas, because I don't :(
-
Looking good, I know it does get hard to think of so many games...What I did was browse the archives, and recreated some games..
-
Well, how about a one person version of pong where you control both paddles and have to keep the ball in as long as possible, a game where you have to keep jumping and moving to avoid the wll behind you crushing you or pushing you into a pit (like mario run type of game). A game where objects keep falling from the sky and you have to avoid getting hit, either by shooting them diagonaly, or by dodging (just die when they hit the ground), you could do some of the game and watch games, a simple rpg, etc. Enough ideas?, cause I am sure i could think of dozens more.
-
Here are a couple more ideas:
-Snooker. Basically pong but with paddles placed all over the place, smaller paddles, and a smaller goal.
-Simon Says. You've probably heard of it already...
-Labyrinth/Pacman. I think you know how this one works.
-Custer's Revenge. Nah, j/k, I don't want angry science teachers lecturing me. :P
-
a small pseudo 3D first person shooters using line( to make graphics (so you dont need pics) would be fun. Or a game like tunnels where apples appear as it scroll and you must eat as many as you can before time's up. That one would be friggin fast
-
thanks for all the ideas, they are really inspiring :)

but I don't know what I will include, since I don't have that much memory left and I still need to make a hiscore storing system and put everything together.
-
well it should be fine as it is, if you dont have enough memory, unless you didn't included a BASIC tunnel yet, which shouldn't be huge
-
thanks to your ideas, I made a version of pong where you would have to control both paddles, but I noticed that you have to keep pressing a button to move it (this is for all buttons exept the arrows and on), and this is really anoying. I also realised that the ai will always hit the ball, so I made a version without ai to see how much faster it go's.
here are some screenshots of the 3 versions

my question is, which one of the 3 do you like the best.
I have also been working on a ASCII sidescroller.

it currently has no goal (exept to grab the 3 stars) and the level currently kinda sucks, but I will think of something. ideas are of course welkom.
if someone wants to help me optimise it, look here:

edit: fixed link
-
I prefer first one, because it goes up/down faster and there's 2 paddles, but you should make the ball go left/right faster when u hit it with the side of the paddle, like in arkanoid. And I like the scrolling engine so far, is it SE speed or regular 83+?
EDIT: Your United-TI link brought me to their front page o.o
at least I know the original gamepack topic link though
EDIT: thanks for fixing it
-
well, the distance the ball moves can be chanced by filling a different number in the beginning and the dirrection is random for all 3 games.
all screenshots are made with PTI emulating a 83+
-
Very Nice. I like the 3rd one because it's like an endurance type of game. If you're gonna use that one, i think that the ball should start to get faster the longer you last. I also like the idea of the first one, where you have control both paddles. It'd be cool if you could include all 3, but if you're only going to do 1, then i would go with the 3rd one.
-
wow, long time since I posted here.
well, despite the lack of posts, this isn't dead. in fact, this is pretty much done :)
I included all 3 pong games, and the ASCII sidescroller turned out to become a 'grab as many stars and get to the end in time' sort of game.
thanks to basicbuilders compression, there is about 6kb left in the app. so if someone has a game or wants to make a level for the sidescroller that he wants included, he can (especially levels, there are currenty not much levels (5)).
else, this is done exept the readme (and about time to, im really starting to lose motivation for this)
