Ok small update on this:

-I have implemented a feature that allow you to switch character direction by pressing ALPHA, thus, making things easier when shooting enemies or bosses that keep moving around. This will also avoid having to jump and move back and forth to change direction when on a very small platform

well IIRC I predicted in Omnimaga IRC channel a year ago that someday there would be a room at location 37,13 (x,y) on the map, thus, room ID=1337. There is some chances that this will come true soon

The energy tanks are now working. I implemented the secret item too, but didn't defined any location yet, altough I have a small idea of where I will put it. :)smile.gif

I haven't left, I just haven't had any time recently to work on cb or any of my other projects (save a bit of music) because of a combo of 12 credit hours of classes and some fun things I am participating in right now and a nasty cold.

I hope to get some things done over my long weekend, but...
On the up side, I made dean's list :)smile.gif.  (and now back on topic)

This is looking realy neat.  It realy makes me want to pick up a calc project again...

...and you wonder why people say it's hard?  :Dbiggrin.gif

The game is looking real good, but I don't think you can call it basic.  If a game makes somebody s*** themselves, it can't thought of as 'basic'.

[edit]I just want to clarify: by not being 'basic' I meant complex, as in it's really good.  Sorry to all who I offended  :Dbiggrin.gif

lol took me a while to catch that joke x.x, at first I was sure it was something aimed against the use of asm libs in BASIC programs... stupid language barrier x.x

Ok, so now:

-I've changed the damage routine so now it loops until your HP is at least 0 when you lose an energy tank. In the previous version for example if u had 3 energy tanks left and 17 HP and got hit by an enemy causing 40 damage point you would end up with 2 energy tanks and your HP at 77. However, since the new version of the game is most likely to have 3 difficulty modes now this may cause problems of negative HP sometimes if you lose more than 100 HP in one hit, so what I did is to simply make the routine repeat until the HP is above 0, thus you could lose 400 HP in one shot without causing any bug (and this will happen in the next version somewhere, altough I doN,t tell anything to avoid revealing too much.

-I also finally finished adding every single new rooms in the game. There's actually near 50, meaning that the game should have near 400 maps to explore now

-The secret item location has been settled up as well, and you can grab it fine.

This means that I only have one more event to add (and a sprite) and it should almost be ready for release! :)smile.gif

Not much people seems to care, but anyway I just implemented difficulty levels:

-Easy: Twice less damage than the original metroid II: Evolution
-Normal: Default mode (which is the same than the original Metroid II
-Hard: 2x more damage than normal mode. Not avaliable until you beat the game in normal mode at least once
-Godlike: 4x more damage than normal mode. Not avaliable until you finish the secret quest, save your game then beat the entire game. If you forget to save your game after finishing the side quest then immediately go kill the final boss it will not unlock the godlike mode.
