Voted, another Zelda maybe? :)
I though about Metroid but inddeed its quite a challenge
Maybe a RPG would be cool too, but go for the Zelda game, but ONLY once you finish Relics of the Past ;)

I agree... Metroid might be *impossible*, at least for non-se. Metal Gear would be gret though.

err... metroid would be possible, just not with all those special moves/power ups, in other words it would be more like contra *cough*Diortem*cough*

:| i think ill leave the shooters to the asm prgmers. the grid left from basic looks bad.

U mean because of the fact there is no scrolling, right? Well with xLIB you could have scrolling :)

:( we are obviously at a difference of opinion here. the good shooters have dozens of enemies coming at you at once. the shooting is usually fast and more responsive. with xLib, you couldnt hv grenades. you would be limited to like two directions of aiming. i guess someone who sees more potential in this project should take it on.

oh yeah of course shooters could be almost impossible in BASIC, but I meant about games like Diortem, Metroid, Contra, Castlevania, Zelda Adventure of link (why does everyone hate this game?) and Ys III: Wanderers from Ys :)
still a challenge though, I'm up for another Zelda or a RPG :)

Hrm... I like Calslevania... I also want to see T3 to make the 8-Bit sonic instead of the 16-Bit... it'll look better on the 89 (the 89 can do about enough shades of grey to imatate 8-Bits)

@kevin: are any of your rpg's (not DLQ) in real time? it might be fun to do a real time rpg if it hasn't been done on the calc...

I'm making one, Aura has a real-time battle system like Tales of Phantasia.
