You probably just need to bug Chronomex on IRC when it has been a week or two :P

YAY! I beat the whole game!
It's sooooo fun

Okay here's the review:
My gameplay:
My first attempt at level 1 came out to be about 37000 (I think I got this because of my accumulated skill over older asm version pyoro)
I unlocked the second level
the second level was hard. Most of the time, I died at around 20000, and about 20th time playing, was able to get around 34000...
unlocked the third level
This level was pretty fun! Especially jumping and stuff.
First, I didn't know what was going on and died (mostly falling on the ground) but from my third try got the hang of it and around 7th time, got around 36000.
It said unlocked... But for 5 minutes, didn't know what was unlocked, but found out the panic mode in option.
And since then, I've been panic mode and my highest score in seed-spitting level (the first one) is around 44000!

Good things:
The score system has much improved and I love the background change!
Now I don't have to constantly pause to see my score.
There's no more flickers too.
Also, different gameplay makes the whole game interesting and increases the replay value by a lot.
The panic mode especially makes me go back and play again!

Bad things:
The second level seems to be bit hard, and almost impossible to play in panic mode, since you can't destroy multiple seeds. May be decrease the seed falling speed or number?

What I think:
If this was done before December 2009, it definitely would have been 2009 POTY.
It still can be 2010 POTY though ^^

Money = sqrt(Evil) (Money is also the root of all evil)
Girls = sqrt(Evil) squared (So, girls are the root of all evil squared)
Girls = Evil (Thus, girls are evil)

I'm trying to beat the first level XD.  But one thing i can say right now is GREAT graphics, greyscale, and a flashy menu with simple yet awesome controls.  The ingame physics/animation/artwork is great, and gives it a kind of oldschool feel to it, which is excellent.  Controls are simple enough, arrows and 2nd for now, can't wait to get further :D

Thanks so much for helping me test this!  I think I will submit it to the archives tomorrow.  Just have to adjust a few last things.

I know its hard... but that's how it was in the original game too, it was always much harder that the spitting one.  Probably what I might end up doing is decrease the number of points you need to unlock the next mode for that one, or I might slightly increase the other ones to make them equal difficulty.

It said unlocked... But for 5 minutes, didn't know what was unlocked, but found out the panic mode in option.

In the readme it will mention what gets unlocked.  I just figured someone would check the options menu beforehand and realize that one of the options has a question mark.

That's awesome, you almost got to the last background.  My high score for that one is 53,000, but then again, I've played it a lot :P

Thanks, the controls stay the same throughout as you will soon see.  What scores are you getting?  You're probably pretty close.

:( I didn't get a readme

:P but yeah, I am getting pretty close, I just need some time to sit down and concentrate on it.  Props for adrictionality (word? Lol) and I just noticed the backgrounds were changing!  Wow that's so cool.  Love the attention to detail!

No one got a readme, I haven't finished it yet :P

But that's part of the testing.  I hope its intuitive enough to play without any instruction.

Yeah, I heard something in the past that said that a good game should be playable even without reading the instructions. Of course computer files need instructions to install and describe the goal of the software if it isn't said in the download description, though.

The sad thing though is that several people don't read readmes and when they can't install the game or the game breaks, they blame the author and claim the game is buggy x.x

Sounds Awesome!

I can't wait for  tomorrow, when I can play.  :D Did you change the volume level of the music, because I found it a little quiet, but incredibly cool. Is it possible to have an option for this?

I tried the new version and it works great on the NSpire. But it is a bit slow (compared to the game run on my sister's 83+ ). Dunno, maybe the NSpire is slower than a normal 84+... Could you possibly add a "NSpire mode" option to make the game run faster? Mess around a bit with the interrupts, I'll tell you what setting is the best on the NSpire.

Once I get to play the game thouroughly, I'll submit a full report. For now, I only had time just to launch and play 30 seconds or so...

I think the TI-Nspire is the exact same speed for TI-BASIC. Illusiat 13, for instance, will run at the same speed as on a 84+SE. However, some ASM-only stuff will run considerably slower.

I guess this is when a third-party 84+ emu for the TI-Nspire would come handy :) *pokes Calc84*

Yeah, i tried Bubble Bobble (the app) on the nSpire and it ran about 3 times slower, and crashed a lot x.x

There is no such thing as "volume level".  The port has digital output not analog, so there really isn't a way to control volume.  I don't have any headphones, I've been testing the sound with a little Peizo Transducer (a mini speaker for circuit boards.  The thing below:)

Its really really loud with this, I have to use a 2k ohm resistor because its so loud.  So I'm guessing that if it doesn't sound loud, its probably your headphones, they're not made for low voltage.

Unfortunately no  :(

Unlike a lot of other games, Pyoro used every singe clock cycle for something.  I don't even use interrupts because they slow the game down too much since I have to constantly enable/disable them plus back up all the registers every time the interrupt is called.  I mean even in my screen drawing routine, I'm using the extra clock cycles to double-buffer the background.  No "waste code" or "timing pauses" at all.

Now that said, I could make it so that it only redraws the screen once per frame rather than 3 times (It has to be an odd number of draw cycles), but then the grayscale will suffer severely.  It will look like a flashing checkerboard, but the gameplay would be twice as fast.

I think what I'm going to end up doing for the tongue mode is cap the speed at the second or third highest because if the tongue is extended all the way and a really fast fruit is falling above you, by the time the tongue retracts so you can move out of the way, you're hit!

Oh, okay.  I don't know if it's my headphone's fault, but I'm okay with the level it's at now.  Plus I see that you have no leftover speed to change the volume with.
Thank's for such a great game! :)

That doesn't mean I can't make the notes play for longer (which might make it seem louder), it would just slow the game down a tiny bit if I did.  I think its at a good loudness to speed ratio right now though.  Luckily, now there is an option to turn it off when you're not using it for better grayscale.

By the way, apparently no one noticed a bug that when you pause the game, the word "score" has the pixels in the 's' and 'c' messed up.  I've fixed that now as well as some other stuff.   I think its ready to be submitted now, I just have to finish the readme and get new screenshots and stuff.
