It would be pretty simple to make this game single player. I can program it. Anyone else want to help program/draw sprites? I really need sprites for this.
It would be ASM, sorry leet BASIC coders, but we need the speed for real-time Zelda-ish movement and such.
I've also considered Cemetechs networking thing, but I highly doubt it's fast enough for an MMO. It *might* be, considering the small amount of data to be sent, but we should focus on making this a game playable in math class.
I know Spelli plays and xlibman has tried. Anyone else?

that sound interesting, the online game sounded cool and i would love to see a calc version. 3-4 of the 141 spellshaper members here started learning asm here i think so maybe they could help later in the future as well
would it be 2D ish like zelda?

It would be, but then I'd have to write an isometric tilemapper or find sic and ask him for his. I like the idea of just a regular tilemap though, I think it would be fun.

Yea, I also play that game and it'd be just great to have an on-calc version of this...
Can't you think of a multiplayer? (over link cable, though)

I've never played.
b/w or gs
app or regular RAM asm program?
Couldn't multiplayer just be PvP?

Multiplayer is possible, of course, it's just that it's more than a matter of sending X and Y coordinates. It has to have attacking, movement, skills in use, etc. Multiplayer could be a sort of Arena thing. In order to maintain decent speed it should be black and white.
Also, what's everyone's level and server?
I am 3fg and treefinguy on Olympus. Both are pure int spear users. Level 29 and level 19.

i got a new vid card, maybe I'll redownload it when i have time.
Edit: seeing the interest there is in the community for this game do you think there should be a sub forum here entirely dedicated to silkroad talk?
