do you think game will run fast enough even with 200 units on the screen? especially zerglings? Or will you limit the unit to 9-100 on certain calcs, like the amount in warcraft III?
Btw the song in the movie is Sandstorm by Darude

Yes multi-select, but not for now now. Maybe in 0.3 or 0.4.
As for the screen, the max possible is 6*8 (tile count) and 5*8 if you have selected a unit. So a max of 48 units at the same time. For the process time, I'll try to make a system so that time is counted to allow continous speed.
The most of the time of process is made by drawing the unit and by fastcopying. (I think)

i assume it'll be tough to balance zerg with toss using only a 48 unit max. this "small" amount of units seems like it will amplify toss' power.
anyway this looks amazing, i played bw for 4 years before i got tired of it. im so happy that one of favorite games is coming to the calc. and as of this point its coming to the calc quite spectaularly.

Oh my gosh I was looking for this project page but I was looking for Starcraft instead of Starcalc and it was right in front of my face haha[/offtopic]
Anyways back on topic I cannot wait 'til this game is released this looks so sick. I love turn-based strategy games.

Lol Halifax
Dinhotheone, each side (ennemy and player) will have 200 units and 200 buildings.
48 is the max number of units viewable in the same time on the screen. Not the max unit possible that you can have.
Note this is going to be REAL-time strategy, not turn-based.

I would hope you try and keep it true to SC.

That's what I try to do mostly (to keep it as close of SC than I can):
-Non-turn-based
-Exploration (possibly fog of war)
-Combat animations like in SC
Some functionalities, like pathfinding, will be excluded because they take too much processing and RAM (unless someone tells me how to do that).

that is understandable. I hope this does well. The mini map might be hard to do though.

will the units be bigger based in the size of the real game, i went to uti and saw your sprite sheet and it look like the goliath was the size of a marine, but then there are other units with bigger sizes.
