I voted for quadrants - as long as the transitions aren't too disruptive, then the option that increases speed and makes the map bigger is the one I want.

I still like the idea for zelda 2, it's more fun, and you can obtain spells earlier if you're good at the game.

I like first option. WIth level up people just overlevel their character and there isn't as much effort needed to actually acquire the spells such as finding them or doing quests.

Balance between the two. I tend to dislike ridiculously long dungeons because I get lost in them. X.x Too many can make you run out of ideas easily, though, or can be repetitive.
