Very similar.  If you know Java, you should be able to easily learn C#.
I do in fact know Java though.  What is TFS and is it in the free version?
I don't believe the express version has TFS support, but I could be wrong.

Spoiler For Projects:

My projects haven't been worked on in a while, so they're all on hiatus for the time being. I do hope to eventually return to them in some form or another...

Spoiler For Pokemon TI:
Axe port of Pokemon Red/Blue to the 83+/84+ family. On hold.

Spoiler For Nostalgia:
My big personal project, an original RPG about dimensional travel and a few heroes tasked with saving the world.
Coding-wise, on hold, but I am re-working the story.

Spoiler For Finale's Super Insane Tunnel Pack of Doom:
I will be combining Blur and Collision Course into a single gamepack. On hold.

Spoiler For Nostalgia Origins: Sky's Story:
Prequel to Nostalgia. On hold, especially while the story is re-worked.

I've had over 3 years of Java programming...and I've been meaning to get into C# for XNA development. I'm rather busy at the moment and am stuck with my dual bootable mac. Maybe once I got a machine dedicated to Windows 7 I could offer more help.

Madskillz, great.
FinaleTI, Graphmastur, if the free version doesn't, I fully recommend the paid version, it is an amazing IDE even outside the context of working on this project.

I know Java, and we've got several books on C# (don't know why; it's not like anyone in our family uses it :D). I'm installing Visual Studio right now (it's Visual C# 2010 Express, right?), so I can help...

Deep Thought, you got the IDE right.  Perhaps you can be our guinea pig for TFS on the free version.
For the record, all of you should be extremely comfortable using C# before actually touching tiDE :)

I already have 3 years programming experience in c#, and I used VCS Express all the time. It works great! And I don't want to spend such a lot of money to my hobby... I have also recently installed VS 2010, with a trial period of 90 days, from which there are still some 80 days remaining I guess. I would like to help!
everytime that I was down, you would always come around, and get my feedback on the ground. (modified part from 'Seasons in the sun')

No matter how many errors are bothering you, always try to stay rel-Axe!

The HoMM project will be resumed as soon Axe 1.0.0 will be released!
Projects:
Code: [Select]
HoMM:   [==--------]    Project 'resumed': I'm suffering overwhelming new ideas being popped up in my dreams :P
tiDE:   [----------]    Explored and understood the main part of the code: just started writing a Tokenizer.

LordConiupiter, I'd love to have you on the team.  However, TFS does not work outside of paid versions of Visual Studio.  If you are still in school, however, you can look into DreamSpark, which can hook you up with Visual Studio 2010 Professional for free (legit, too).

Yay!  I got the TFS repository merged with subversion, so you can use both to work on tiDE.  That means you can combine TortoiseSVN with SharpDevelop 4.0 to work on tiDE.
TortoiseSVN is a subversion client for Windows that integrates with Windows Explorer, and SharpDevelop 4.0 is an open-source .NET IDE similar to Visual Studio, that has support for Visual Studio 2010 project files, and integrates with TortoiseSVN.  This means that you can work on tiDE for free! ^-^

I know, which saddens me.  I sent him a PM, so if he comes back, he is welcome to help.  Anyone who wants to help can contact me and I'd be happy to get you set up on source control.

Yeah I hope he didn't ditch calc stuff. His HoMM RPG saw no updates since the end of the contest. Then his activity dwindled. Hopefully he returns.

yahooo! And because I'm working with Eeems on oasis which is also a svn. I just don't know if I'll have time, or C# experience. I'll just let this project take it's course. Good luck, SirCmpwn!

I could help, have Visual Studio C#. HOWEVER, I have limited knowledge on C#.

Are you using the Designer for the GUI?

I really wanna help if you need a mediocre programmer of C# in the team :)

EDIT: I'm now opening VS to get more comfortable with it, so I can help you more Sir. YAY AN EXCUSE to get back to C# after 2 months without touching it!

ScoutDavid, send me a PM, and yes I am using the designer for most of the GUI.
