« on: April 26, 2014, 06:13:02 pm »

I have my own server now, so I decided to put minecraft on it.
Specs:
Laptop
Dual core cpu @2,2GHz
4GB ram
320GB harddisk internal

Server info page: http://cookiecraft.eeems.me
Minecraft server ip: cookiecraft.eeems.me

The website is also hosted on my server.

Nice! I'd ask about how you made it, as I tried without success, but that sounds weird, since there are too many personal servers as it is, to ask how "I can make my own" :< But, I'll visit it!
You should know, I am a Christian.

Seeing AeTIos' troubles staying connected, I assume that a 500 GB/second connection is required? :P

No, you just need a stable connection. aeTIos uses wireless internet.

I use wireless internet via a repeater that's in the wrong corner of the house. Occasionally I have an okay signal tho. (sometimes I can even play BF3 without having 1500 ping all the time)

I'll have to pay you a visit. Didn't play Minecraft in quite a while. O.O

I made a very long road today. Used about 1400 cobblestone, most of them in slab form. That means I have used almost 2800 blocks O.o

Can I submit a request for the server to be downgraded to 1.7.2? As far as I know, most of the changes between that and the current version are very minor additions, bug fixes, and Realms stuff. I ask because 1.7.9 is supported by very few mods, whereas 1.7.2 is supported by lots of mods. And I really like experience-improving mods, like ones that provide extra graphical features or more friendly interface/controls. I've got about 15 of them for 1.7.2 right now. :P

Are worlds, profiles and settings compatible between versions?

I can't say for sure, but I don't see why not. I'd definitely recommend backing up all current data before trying it, if you do.

Will try it when there are no players online. I have backups of the world.

You could also grab one of these backups and try it locally on your PC. ;)
