My website -- Reviews?
« on: March 26, 2011, 05:38:40 pm »
I made a website (using HTML 5): www.multiscale.webs.com
I'm probably going to use it to post information about any projects I'm working on, to upload my programs eventually (when freewebs will actually let me  :banghead:), and put other random stuff.

It's hosted with webs.com.

As websites go, this one is really empty (I don't have much content yet), and my color scheme is really dry.

But apart from that, how does it look?  And if anybody cares to examine the HTML to any detail, how is it?

I'm open to any suggestions and criticisms.

My website: Currently boring.

Projects:
Axe Interpreter
   > Core: Done
   > Memory: Need write code to add constants.
   > Graphics: Rewritten.  Needs to integrate sprites with constants.
   > IO: GetKey done.  Need to add mostly homescreen IO stuff.
Croquette:
   > Stomping bugs
   > Internet version: On hold until I can make my website less boring/broken.

I might be able to assist a little if you do python programming of it. I don't know if webs supports that though
I currently don't do much, but I am a developer for a game you should totally try out called AssaultCube Reloaded download here https://assaultcuber.codeplex.com/

Hmm question, why would you upload your calc games on a personal website and not in Omnimaga downloads section, even though you're part of Omnimaga programming team? ??? (For example, Minesweeper isn't even in Omni dl section, yet it's on your site)

That said, the site seems nice so far.

More upload freedom, no format restrictions? That's mostly why I upload stuff to my servers.

Webs doens't allow python :P

Concerning the HTML and CSS, which I browsed, I highly recommend centering the main div, or even better, the whole body.

Also, if you wanna do anything with your website try to get a proper host and domain (000webhost+co.cc, etc) instead of Webs.

Good job so far :)

Yeah but I mean less people will see the files since the site is less frequented, plus the omni download section allows any format (although files has to be zipped). It just seems like some sort of boycott against Omni downloads section or something.

It's kinda like if Kerm decided to upload Doors CS7 in his personal blog somewhere online, but not even include it on Cemetech.

I think that what Michael is doing is having a personal website, for various stuff. He doesn't have it only for calculator programs.

Meh I think people should have personal freedom where they want to upload it. It is Scout's project after all.

Actually, Minesweeper is in the Omnimaga download sections.  I was the first person to try the user-download section, if I remember correctly.

Edit: And it's my project, not Scout's ;)

Edit 2: And I posted Minesweeper because I wanted to test file attachment (apparently I need to wait a week before I can do this or something), and to test how pictures would look.

Yeah I know, but I mean if you check the Omni staff downloads section, Axe minesweeper isn't even there.

Nope it isn't. Check: http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;cat=29

I did a CTRL+F search in that page to make sure I didn't miss it.

(UNless you uploaded it in the wrong section?)

EDIT: Er merged double post

Ah, ok.  So I uploaded Minesweeper in the days before I was a staff member.  It's in here: http://www.omnimaga.org/index.php?action=downloads;cat=60

That being said, I'll use my website to upload anything interesting, but I'll still post finished files to Omnimaga and probably ticalc.org.

Oh right, I forgot it came out before you became staff. Sorry then. X.x

And leafiness0 I know, it just sounds weird if someone decides to upload a great calc game with lots of popularity potential on a personal site and not where there are many people. Granted, they would be sorted better there, but it's also good to get visibility, right?

(Keep in mind that several of these games were made between 2001 and 2007, though)

By some standards that's actually very colorful ;)

Anyway, your layout's great. Just swap some colors and styles, move the whole thing to the middle (it's
Code: (CSS) [Select]
margin-left: auto;
margin-right: auto;
), and it'll look great. Certainly better than half the amateur websites on the web x.x

Also, shouldn't this be in Web Development?
