Except for the places where the webkit/blink engine have bugs with conforming to standards. As a developer, I've run into quite a few instances where Fx supports something properly and everything else balks. Or where Webkit is the only thing that doesn't like it.
Exactly, I only code standards-conforming and it never happened that it didn't work in opera. Mostly webkit has issues and firefox works, but sometimes it's both (redrawing issues) and just opera works.
Seriously, blink/webkit is becoming the new IE.
I <3 Presto ;D

Please add Chromium to the list because saying that I use Google Chrome would be saying that I'm using Google proprietary code, and that is not happening.

Uh, they're basically the same browser. One just has integration with google services.

Check the licenses: Wikipedia list
Google Chrome draws it's code from project Chromium, and adds some closed code for some big-brotherly features I don't wan't.
It may not be a big difference for most users, but it is for people who strive for the development of free software.

The chromium codebase includes full support for all of the datamining google does. They're simply not tied into any google services like chrome. The only real code changes google does involve adding some non-free plugins to make the browser usable, such as H.264 and AAC support.

yes, and that means that at least we know they're there, because we can look into the code to see they're there.
on proprietary code, nothing guarantees what you use, and what the program does, therefore leaving potentially dangerous code running without the knowledge of the user.
it's because of this kind of behaviour that Microsoft has been able to leave a backdoor in their systems.
proprietary code doesn't only mean taking away any kind of contribution to the general development of computers, it also means that you want to hide something. I don't like either of the means.

On my laptop the default browser is Firefox but I'm using Opera very often, too. On my tablet I use four browsers: Dolphin, Firefox, Firefox Aurora and Opera, because they have different features I need. For example I can save pages for offline with Opera and Firefox has much usefull addons.

That said, as much as Google can be suspicious for privacy stuff, I don't think 100% of the closed-source/proprietary stuff is necessarily like that. Else, it would almost imply that every recent ASM game on ticalc.org send gameplay data/calc content to the NSA if you play them while the calc is connected via the USB port. :P

I have IE, Chrome, Fx and Opera installed but the latter is the one I use most. I really like the simple and clean user interface and the mouse gestures which are a great working experience and when you get used to them they really improves browsing speed. Same with Opera's auto-login function. Opera is also my favorite mobile browser.
Fx appears to me as a bit buggy and crashes sometimes (not often but far more frequent than any other program). It also wants to be updated every now and then and that then wants to adjust/ensure compatibility of the plug-ins etc. With Opera, updating happens is only a matter of seconds (less than 10).

Else, it would almost imply that every recent ASM game on ticalc.org send gameplay data/calc content to the NSA if you play them while the calc is connected via the USB port. :P
lol :D

DJ: O.O I think you're right! The NSA is tracking our calculators!

I am an avid IE user, so shoot me :P IE6 is the one I use most; I'm posting this from it. I use both IE6 and IE6Mobile. It's just great - groovy interface, fast loading, super-low memory consumption. When I need to load a picky webpage I do use FX17 though.
You should know, I am a Christian.

So many chrome users here :P

So yeah, I'm also with chrome, I love how much pixel-height it actually has, putting the tabs in the top bar.
I also like their JavaScript runtime and the built-in debugging tools for web-dev.

and this, my friends, is why web developers are having such a hard time making their websites compatible
