Very Old Project
« on: March 25, 2009, 08:48:15 pm »
Had this one sitting around for quite a while: http://www.mediafire.com/?n5lmkgrm2in

Just fired up a webserver to get it to run. Nevermind the joke at the top of the page when you view the image (mediafire doesn't recognize .png?)

So, the real question would be... where would be the best place(s) to go to help me relearn php?

You've inspired me to relearn PHP too...
I've been far too lazy to properly update my site on pure HTML.

When I find a good place, I'll make sure to tell you.

As for learning, I'm enjoying W3Schools so far.
Learned quite a bit already.

Yeah W3schools is definitely the best place to start. They have tutorials/examples on everything. I don't know how many times ive tried to start learning PHP only to give up because im too lazy.. :( I would like to learn it though. It'd be very handy.

Just so you know, this "webserver" that I "fired up" was a local one so I can test pages just about as fast as I can edit the files. With or without connecting to the internet. "Server2Go" is the name of the packaged I just started using (Windows platform).

I don't personally have any PHP-enabled webspace, but the real reason why I want to relearn it is because I promised to make a website for a club I've joined, and I want to make it easy for them to update the site with whatever, even long after I'm gone from the club. Databases and such.

Considering he has his own sub-forum for Celtic III, I'll hazard a guess and say that he is :)

Do not go to UTI so often, but we give those who are working with staff on a project (wabbitemu + others) subforums...Did not think if UTI was like that as well..

uti got fewer projects lately tho, i remember when they had about 12-15 listed once O.O, but yeah they give subforums even to regular members. A bit like here, but here we only do RPGs (altough I might start doing libs too and in the general projects section I might make sub forums for major non rpg projects in the future)

Well I think having a featured programs section is great, RPGs is your thing so I understand why just doing RPGs. But having other featured programs inspire progress, like when CalcWebZine was around and posted an update about one of my games (must have been a slow month for them lol) it made me code more and felt like I was doing something good ;)

well the thing is that Omnimaga used to be called Omnimaga: Your calculator RPG headquarter and usually covered mostly RPGs, since they were often underrated and had all the best ones in one place instead of scattered amount 8000 crappy programs on ticalc.org. I'm still thinking about having a sub section in this project section for big projects like cadan, though
